The final work in progress has been performed in Deda, Derby. This week the five dancers had the music to work with and costumes to play around in, both of which gave the piece a atmospheric feeling and I am sure with the lights added in a few weeks, this will only add to this quality. The piece which now has the title of Matters of Life and Death is only twenty minutes of dance, but in that twenty minutes you feel like you are being taken somewhere else and the intricacy of the movement vocabulary is the catalyst for this journey.
For me this apprenticeship is all done and dusted and I am on to new and exciting things, but having the chance to follow Katie and the dancers through this whole process has been an amazing experience and one I won't forget in a hurry.
